Watch: The ‘Kedi’ Trailer

It’s safe to say that 2016 was, to use a technical term, an utter shit-show. But time marches on. We have to venture onward into 2017 — it’s not like we can just give up and lay on the ground and weep ourselves into oblivion, right? (Right…?)

Hey — I know what’ll cheer everyone up. A trailer for a movie about cats! The good folks at Oscilloscope Laboratories are bringing the documentary Kedi to theaters in 2017, and the movie is going to charm the hell out of you.

“Hundreds of thousands of Turkish cats roam the metropolis of Istanbul freely. For thousands of years they’ve wandered in and out of people’s lives, becoming an essential part of the communities that make the city so rich. Claiming no owners, the cats of Istanbul live between two worlds, neither wild nor tame –and they bring joy and purpose to those people they choose to adopt. In Istanbul, cats are the mirrors to the people, allowing them to reflect on their lives in ways nothing else could.”

Oscilloscope Laboratories will release Kedi on February 10th in New York at the Metrograph and Lincoln Plaza Cinema and in Los Angeles at the Royal, before expanding nationwide over the following weeks. Watch the trailer below.
